RACE The next generation of high availability hosting service is here!
Unique in the industry, and now first to market, Desyne has once again
designed and deployed the first and only, Redundant Array of Cloud Exchanges (RACE).
RACE is the next generation of high availability hosting solutions.
Inspired from and evolving past the proven technology of RAID disk storage.
RAID (Redundant Array of Independent Disks) is a storage technology that
combines multiple disk drives into single or multiple logical unit(s).
Data is then distributed across the drives, in multiple ways, depending
on the level of redundancy and performance required. Data can be protected
against a single or even multiple hardrive failures while increasing performance.
The single biggest down side to RAID is that is facility centric.
All the data is located in one facility - A single point of failure
that we consider unacceptable.
Desynes' RACE (Redundant Array of Cloud Exchanges) hosting platform takes data
storage to the next level. Distributing your data (file, emails, websites,
applications, backups, databases, etc.) across multiple clouds
in multiple diverse geographic locations all over the country.
This high performance design protects data against single AND multiple catastrophic
server failures or even complete facility failure or shutdown. Further it protects
against carrier failures to the facilities. An event that every facility operator
abhors and has very little if any control over.
While every other hosting provider talks about "redundancy, backups, generators, etc."
Two factors brought the reality of a single point of facility failure to our front door.
- We had services with Rackspace in 2012 and they had a complete meltdown of all
our servers data. It took them a rediculous 18 hours just to tell us that all our data was lost forever, backups and everything - GONE!
Needless to say this is totally unacceptable from a professional hosting company -
yet it is standard in the industry for providers to do "everything they can" to protect your data as long as it stays inside their 4 walls.
Of course Desyne was ready with up to the minute off-site backups and customers were back on line right away :)
- Then just recoverying from the Rackspace Meltdown - SuperStorm "Sandy" of 2012 reared her ugly head.
As we prepared for the "Storm of the Century" we asked ourselves...
"What would happen if our current providers facility (in New Jersey) went down,
or worse yet, our provider stayed up but the telcos lost power and/or service and were no longer able to carry their data?
The answer: All of our customers would have been at the mercy of the Carriers to
get their sites and applications back online. All the redundant generators,
servers and disks would NOT have made one little bit of difference.
We found this scenario unacceptable. We immediately launched our then beta
project RACE and fired up Redundant Arrays of our customers data in various
diverse Cloud Exchanges all over the country.
Currently we have Redundant Arrays of Cloud Exchanges in:
- New York
- New Jersey
Now our customers data is safe, protected and most important - available!
We are ready for almost anything Mother nature can through at us.
